ON VACATION IN BEIJING

So we arrived at Beijing airport and my sister found a segway to play with, Bush fell off one of those before.

We stayed at Marco Polo hotel for a week, the bathroom panel is made of glass so that it is visible outside but there is an automatic blind as well.

We are standing at the entrance of the Forbidden Palace, a world heritage site, used to belong to emperors dating back to the 14th centuries. The weather was mediocre but warm enough. It was a long walk around the gigantic palace that spans several kms.

Here at the Bird’s nest complex, where Olympic 2008 games were held. I wanted to try out the tracks but there was some construction hence not allowed.

We are at the Great Wall of China, took a stroll up the stairs to the next watchtower. It was recorded that over 1 million workers died whilst building this wall, must been overworked. A marathon round the walls would prove to be challenging as it was harder to breath at the top.

Evening, we had a tantalizing sushi awaji korean bbq grill, it tasted so delicious on the taste buds. We had scallops, cow tongue, king prawns etc. and unlimited drinks such as mango smoothies or coconut milk. There were sushi for starters. Each table surrounds a big grill and there is one chef cooking for them.

Grilling the marble steaks, well worth the calories intake.
Fried banana and icecream underwent some fire.

We went to see Olympic athletes practising such as competitive diving and gymnastic, unfortunately we were not allowed to take photos inside as this would distract them whilst training. I was impressed, most them are quite young and spent their whole life crafting their skills, they get complimentary sport massage and physiotherapy.

We spotted Lin Dan, who is a gold medal badminton player and All England championship coming out of sport centre
