I arrived on the set at 7.30am on a Saturday, in time for another breakfast. Got my hair done and dressed by the team to play a nurse first then a student doctor, got given some stethoscope. It shall be broadcasted next year in January, will be on episode 29. I have worked with them before and the episodes are screened in about 6 months period therefore they film summer in winter and vice versa, I was freezing up last time, pretended to be a patient on the ambulance then wheelchair. I’ve played a visitor and a school kid before as well. I don’t really watch Casualty but will check myself out.
Studio equipment, the gigantic filming lights. They were dotted around the place, everywhere, even outside the window to give an impression of an incredible sunny day inside the patient rooms!
I’m a student doctor, I play in a scene where the main character, the doctor addresses to his team of five medical students. We all pretended that we don’t know the answer to his questions and he gets frustrated. Then we just keep nodding at his outburst of medical terms and surgery instructions. The next scenes will be shot next week, I will get to wear the surgeon scrubs!! We wrapped up like 4.30pm or so.
Props for filming, not for the faint hearted hahaha.
