HK SG MSIA, THE LAND OF THE EXOTICS

Upon arriving Hong Kong touch down HKG, nostalgic memories returned. The distinct fragrant aroma that lingered in the air whilst being surrounded by hot breezes. Undeniable it is, one of those places that has interwove into my childhood. But still, my heart has a piece in Germany too, since I was born and raised there, since then haven’t returned, this has been more than 10 years ago and in my dreams I have always gone back to those places with a new feeling that I am curiously anticipating to return one day soon. My memories has a tendency to play tricks on my mind, in dreams the houses were a complex maze filled with people or have that added abstract element to it.

Royal Plaza, the hotel we stayed in, had a swimming pool situated at the mountain side and if you would dip your ears inside the pool water, sensational music blared from underwater loudspeakers but what’s more interesting was that it was overlooking over one of the famous oldest secondary school in HK, that is Diocesan Boy’s school, having being founded in 1869 where my dad was one of those old school boys there and we had a chance to have a tour around the school. It was mind-blowing to conjure vivid images of my dad studying there as a child, some buildings even retained its old features giving out an uncanny aura, not to mention notable alumni like Dr. Sun Yat-sen. The teacher who took us around began to tell us horror stories about how the school was when it was patrolled during the second world war and about what happened to the unfortunate ones.

I love healthy food so scouted for a raw food restaurant specially, even out in HK. Loved the creativity, there is always something to taste and to learn from. I remembered it was one of those delicious healthy salad with special crackers, zucchini paste, shavings of beetroot, lots of vegetables and generous sprinkle of living sprouts. Eating under lit candle overlooking night sky outside, was quite an unbeatable experience.

Visiting theme parks whilst on family holiday is fun, Ocean Park was the loyal choice, well I have visited that park since I was a child and countless times more. Perfect for those with panda obsession or general obsession with cuteness since you can admire a stationary panda that is just too lazy to move in the hot weather but that is contradictory since they have air conditioning in their enclosing.

Arriving at the Hong Kong peak, we were greeted with this view. A tram usually takes you uphill quickly to this popular tourist destination.

Meanwhile, we took a short trip to Malaysia arriving at Kuala Lumpur promptly to be surrounded by coconuts, I love coconut whether drinking straight from it, the coconut can be used for the oil presses, vinegar fermentation, butter, cream etc. The coconut access there was next to none, it could be found around streets and shops cheaply but then again, other tropical cities are very likely to have too.

Also had lots of other exotic fruits such as durian, jackfruit, dragonfruit, mangosteen etc.

Stayed at Lexis Hotel Port Dickson hotel for few of the journeys around. Just been thinking whether the sea level can rise above the house, especially during monsoon. But I like the idea of living out in the sea.

Taking a selca whilst capturing the background as well, I liked the interior design and prefer eco houses or what you call earth houses to live in, hemp would be my ideal material. The Malaysian people are friendly, there is a cultural diverse community with Chinese people making up a large proportion of the population too. There were a group of young people tourists who wanted to take photos with me for some reason but I found it hilarious and at the end it was a group photo, I should have taken a copy.

We went to a fishy foot spa at one point and some fishes were huge, I haven’t seen them that big before, they must have gotten fat from consuming human feet skin. We encountered a lot of other animals too, even went to the butterfly park which was amazing, walking into a garden with lots of beautiful butterflies but there was a snake garden too, which no one really went to try, having a warning sign upon entering at self risk is very self explanatory.

We had a traditional food for dinner: chicken marinated inside a baked bread, traditional soup in fact we tried a lot of the traditional foods.

We went to visit the prime minister’s open house, this was the dining hall and below was the lounge where a lot of significant individuals have seated before.

Next we flew to Singapore and headed to Universal studio and went on all the major roller coaster rides, the Battlestar Galactica and Cylon were the fastest, when I was strapped onto the ride, it started to rain so hard that I was hit with water at a great mph force but this was all part of the fun too. I remember it was the main universal studio in America that we went, that had actors in the haunted house trying to touch tourists and ones in mummies costumes jumping on people whilst they are strolling outside the rides.

The fake Egyptian sculptures at the rides, thinking about this, I reminisce, that there were Egyptian sculptures on board at the cruise liner and also quite prominent at Las Vegas too, we stayed at Luxor Hotel before, that was mainly composed of a pyramid and sculptures too. And of course pyramid is a huge symbol.

We went to the famous Petronas twin tower and all the large complexes of shopping land in Singapore.

LV brand was very popular, well hello the Chinese people love their LV bags, it is a status quo. But no for me, simple would do, I got a hemp bag at the moment. I found out the material was made of strong plastic and legend was that it survived a plane crash, the plastic didn’t melt.

Special food we had there was Twg tea ice cream, sorbet, whipped cream and even jelly. All made with tea, prefect for teatime. Even the salad had green tea infused vinaigrette, everything was tea infused.

I found ginger bread man and couldn’t resist taking a photo, it was so cute! My checkered dress with leather trimming details was actually a limited All Saints edition so it needs to be worn more. I actually quite like the steam punk style of All Saints. I am also wearing my pink bikila vibram fivefingers, minimal footwear at all the times hahaha.
